Church, Soccer, and Atitlan
Ola Everyone,
So today, we went to the local Mennonite church, during the greeting time we all got lots of hugs and kisses from the congregation. During the service, we got to teach them a song that we had learned (in spanish!) then Barrett, Val, Jeff, and Shyla gave a reading. They read the Hispanic Creed, Jeff and Barrett in English, Val and Shyla in Spanish. We then spent time with the youth group, playing a game, then talking about violence in our societies and what we as a church can do. After the church service, some of us joined in on the weekly soccer game, while others spent time talking with people.
We then met with the head of MCC Guatemala, Antony, and he gave us a brief overview of what MCC is doing in Guatemala.
Tomorrow we head over to Santiago Atitlan, where we will spend 2 nights with host families, as well as clean up a soccer field (we think, it might change by the time we get there).

WE´RE HERE!!!!
Ola! after missing our connecting flight from Dallas last night we´re finally here! We arrived at the Guatemala City Airport and Adriana,. our MCC contact, met us with a boy from Guatemala named Andre. We took a bus to Casas(after a few of us threw our bags on a completley different bus) , which will be our home for the next 48 hours. We have 2 rooms here at Casas, and a lovely view from the rooftop. We can see the city, trees, and volcanoes. Tomorrow we are leading a few parts of a church service, and taking on the youth in a soccer game! Glad we´re here safely! Adios, buenas noches!
